Hi all, I’m very new here and this is my first post, please take it easy on me :p , this is my last stop/try before I buy a new refrigerator. My problem is my refrigerator seems to be leaking water from the upper compartment where the air blows, I’ve had this problem for about a year now and I can’t take it anymore; I’m tired of having to dump that plastic bowl full or icy water every week. My refrigerator spoil’s my food and makes it very damp . I’m hoping some of you experts can tell me what’s wrong with my fridge, any help would be appreciated.
Also if I turn my temp setting up, all it does is turn my icy water into a big ice block :o
I’ve attached a photo of where it’s leaking from, thanks.

Just to be sure; you have water dripping from the ceiling of the refrigerator compartment that is coming down from the freezer compartment?
This is caused by a blockage in the freezer compartment defrost drain (located in the back, center, bottom of the freezer compartment). Another possiblity is that your unit is not level (front to back, side to side), thus defrost water is not being channeled to the drain properly. Use a piece of wire or something to unclog the drain (the clog may be frozen so you'll have to work to unclog it).
If your getting water drainage, it's a good sign that your automatic defrost is working correctly. If the water drip is constant, it would seem that your defrost is stuck on. Manually rotate it and see if you hear it click.
Now, if you turn your temps down, it will freeze water in the refrig. comparment?
Sounds like it's cooling fine to me.
You may want to check the blender/damper that controls the amount of "cool" that each compartment gets.
Good Luck!

So the water is leaking from the freezer compartment into the fridge??? It could be the defrost water not being able to drain to the pan underneath the fridge. The drain tube could be stopped up with built up dust and mold at the bottom. The drain hole is somewhere below the coils in the freezer. You can pour water into it to see if it's clear. click here (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/draintube.php) for more information.

I’m not sure if the water is dripping from the freezer compartment, it drips from where the cold air blows out from, where I’ve circled in the photo.

No, if I turn my temp settings up, then it turns the icy water in the bowl to pure ice and there is a large build up of ice around where the water drips.

I have a Whirlpool upright with the same problem. I thaw the drain occassionally and it freezes up within a couple of days. My problem is that the drain tube is mis-aligned with the tray on the freezer floor, so as the freezer defrosts most of the water just flows beneath the tray and into the refrigerator. I don't think there would be a cure for it if this is your problem.
