How to identify compressor terminals

I've just purchased a hard start pack which needs to be connected to the three terminals of my refrigerator compressor. But I don't know which terminals are "start", "run", and "common". My original relay (old fashioned, wired relay) has two terminals --- "S" and "M". A red wire goes to overload then goes to relay. A white wire goes to the top terminal of the compressor, and the relay is hooked to the two bottom terminals of the compressor. Is "S" connected to "start", "M" connected to "run", and the white wire connected to "common"? Any help will be appretiated. By the way, my compressor label reads:463877 T307 THERMALLY PROTECTED WHIRLPOOL.
