I woke up this morning to find that my fridge/freezer was defrosted and not cool. Haven't had any problems like this before and was looking for some help. I have cleaned the condenser cools and unplugged the unit for a while. It seems to work, just not cool. The light works, the fan runs and the condenser is hot. I am afraid the condensor is shot as it clicks every few minutes while it is plugged in. If it is the condenser, I have heard it isn't "worth" fixing. Is that true? I also need help assessing whether it truely is the condenser. How do I localize the problem? The fridge apparently is covered for parts but not labor still by sears. That means that the price of the compressor would be covered if it needed to be repaired, but the labor would not. Is this a labor heavy project (i.e. most of the cost in replacing the condenser is in labor). The have also offered me a $219 one year warranty including this repair. Is this something that sounds like it would be worth it if the compressor was bad and needed replacement. Thanks for the help.

Compressors rarely fail on a fridge this young. The problem may simply be the start relay. That is fairly cheap and easy to replace. See our site for how to test/repair a start relay.
