maytag washing machine

My maytag washer,has been great up till today.It fills with water and does nothing else.Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and found the cause to be a faulty lid-switch. Be careful and try to activate the switch with a screwdriver with the lid open and see if this starts the wash cycle.

Thanks you were right,I had to get a repair man to take care of the switch. 10 minutes later all fixed and 67.00 poorer!
