Kenmore Dryer - Odour

I have a Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer Model #4685290 and over the last week or two have noticed a very disagreeable odour following a previous wash. The smell is similar to that of clothes that has been left damp for a few days.
I have used the commonly proposed odour removing method of cup of concentrated bleach but the smell still lingers and if anything is getting stronger !. Any suggestions ?

A piece of clothing may have escaped from the spin basket and gotten into the outer drum. The piece of clothing would be sitting there soggy and twisted up, and would start to smell. Bleach would solve that problem.

Sometimes, in some models, if you remove the top of ht e washer, you can pull the basket pfar enough over to see or even reach into the drum. Do this with a helper so you don't get your arm trapped in there.

Otherwise you will have to remove the spin basket to access the outer drum.
