Whirlpool drains but wont spin

ultimate careII agitator works,pump works,wont spin.
press lid switch and pump starts drains-nospin.Pulled motor-(2)3prong plastic pieces and rubber look ok.I removed transmission and shaft tub still wont spin.
please help

The most likely cause is the lid switch itself. Start by testing the lid switch for continuity. See the article on our repair site for the steps.
