I hava a GE GTS22 refridgerator that recently stopped cooling. The compressor is running, the condenser fan is running, I cleaned the condenser coil, the evaporator fan is running but the system is putting out warm air.
I felt the lines coming into the compressor and the large line is cooler than the small line but the lines coming out of the condenser are at roughly the same temperature. What could be the cause of the problem?

Was the fridge recently moved?
Is there any way that it might have been damaged?
If the evaporator fan is blowing air that isn't cool, the coils are cleana nd the compressor is running, then that points at a problem in the cools, such as a refrigerant leak or oil in the lines.

The unit has not been moved and it's only about 4 years old. It doesn't appear to have any damage (i.e. crimped copper lines) but I really have no way to tell.
Last night I removed all the ductwork for the air to the lower section and pulled off the back cover of the freezer so that I could see the evaporator coil. I removed the ice-maker assembly and restarted the unit. After about three hours I checked the freezer and it was very cold with frost on the coils. I assumed that removing the ice-maker may have cured the problem so I shut it down and re-assembled all the covers/ducts. Then I re-powered the fridge and let it run overnight. I got up this morning and it is putting out warm air again. Any thoughts?

I disassembled the freezer again and tried to repeat the findings I saw earlier. As soon as I had plugged the unit back in with all the ducting and covers removed, it started to cool right away. I set the controls for 8 on the freezer and 8 on the fridge. I also put several ice trays of water in the freezer to check out the operation.
This morning when I checked the freezer all the ice trays were frozen solid and the freezer temp was very cold. However, none of the fans were in operation (condeneser cooling fan or evaporator fan) and the compressor was not running. The compressor was also hot to the touch. What can that be indicative of?

It appears that the problem was a bad mother/control board for the fridge. I purchased a new one from GEAPPLIANCE.COM and the unit appears to be working now. I do have a basic operational question though. Do these GE refridgerators require the evaporator fan to run constantly to circulate air or do they cycle on and off?

The evap fan does not run continuously
