 I have a GE Hotpoint Side-by-Side Refrigerator/freezer and the Freezer stays cold (ice maker still makes ice and everything seems to remain frozen) but the Fridge side feels warm. I have been through the troubleshooting guide, the "how-to" and the forums and still can't find the problem. There are no air flow restrictions in the vents, the thermostat checks out ok, the defrost timer checks ok (there is no ice in the freezer so I assume the defroster is working), the doors both seal good, both lights work and go off when the door is closed, I cleaned the condenser coils, the condenser fan is working, evaporator fan at the back of the freezer is also working, the drain hole is not clogged. P L E A S E H E L P ! ! !

I also have the damper between the fridge and the freezer fully open.

ADDED: Okay , after three days of the freezer seemimg fine, it is not cooling well either. I don't have a thermometer to check the temp but everything appears to be thawing. It still makes ice though. Someone please help!

Problem solved! Thanks for looking everyone. It turned out to be the defrost heater was burned out. I never checked this at the beginning because there was no noticeable frost inside the freezer. After I pulled the back inside panel of the freezer I noticed that the coils were totally packed with ice keeping the fan from properly circulating air to the fridge. That's when I decided to check the heater. The heat and Air shop where I got the new heater said it was very common for the heater to burn out and it don't indicate a more serious problem. This was probably my only issue.

The troubleshooting section was great help. Thanks ACME.
