I have a problem and I really dont want to buy a new dishwasher. We found water leaking in the house and found out that the heating element burned a quarter inch hole and about 4 inches long hole in the bottom of the dishwasher. I went to Lowes to get a adhesive sealant that was water proof and high tempeture that is not toxic. I could not find the adhesive sealant there. Is there such a thing? Any recommendations or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

PS we are selling the house so it is important that we get this fixed correctly.

You should be able to find an epoxy made for that application. If it's a metal tub something like JB Weld might work. I've seen lots of epoxy at an auto parts store like auto zone. I've used some for radiator repair and gas tank repair. make sure you read the application it is recomended for like hot water and I suppose the heat from the heating element and the material it will bond to.

I have bought WaterWeld and I have applied it to the hole in the dishwasher. This was recommended by ACE Hardware and it seems to be pretty simple to apply. Have you ever had any luck with Waterweld? Im going to let it set and try the dishwasher tomorrow. Ill let you know if this works.

WaterWeld worked great and has held the water in place in the lower tub of the dishwaser. Thanks for the recommendation to go to ACE Hardware, that is where I found it.
