The ice maker in my Kenmore bottom freezer refrig only dumps a batch of ice about once a day. The input water is filtered and the ice maker fills up normally. This is the second ice maker I've installed in this frig. The original ice maker was doing the same thing, except not as slow.
Is there another control for the ice maker that is integral in the frig?
Also, is there an adjustment on the ice maker to increase it's production?
Thank you for any ideas, obkt

You need to make sure the filter is clean. Also at the inlet of the water line to the water valve is a screen. Check to may sure it is open.

Thank you for your reply.
Water flow isn't the problem. When the ice maker produces a batch of ice, the water tray fills up immediately. The problem is that it makes a batch of ice maybe every 12 hours. Sometimes it's only one batch in a 24 hour period.

I don't know of any adjustment to speed up an icemaker. It should dump the ice as soon as it's frozen. I would check the temp. of the freezer. It should be around 5 degrees.

Thank you for the tip. I did as you advised, and the temp in the freezer is 0 degrees. Surprisingly, the icemaker produced ice 3 or 4 times yesterday, then stopped working again. Very erratic. I happened to catch it during one cycle and made sure the heater was working. Don't know what to think.

I have had the same problem with my Wolff fridge- the ice maker seems to have a time-table of its own. nothing i have tried seems to make a difference-

Have you checked the wire arm to make sure it os operating freely and not sticking? Maybe move it up and down a few times to be sure
