Whirlpool dishwasher cover grate

I have an older Whirlpool dishwasher - don't know the age because it was in this house when I moved in. I believe it is Model #DU8300XX. Does anyone know how to remove the cover grate in the bottom rear of inside so it can be cleaned? It appears that it should just snap in and out but I can't seem to get it to do either. I don't have any paperwork on this machine and everything I can see about this item says to refer to your manual for this information. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Jan

I'd expect it to snap out too. unfortunately, prying hard enough to get a stubborn one out is also enough force to break one that is held in with fasteners.

It may be secured with screws from underneath or it may have some type of snaps. because there are so many variations between makes, models and the year of manufacturer, your best bet is to call the manufacturers help line or email desk.
