I have a Frigidaire FWX233RES2 that is about 6 years old. Until recently it ran great. All of a sudden, water on the floor. I took off the front panel, only to find the bottom rusted quite well, but only on the right hand side (looking at the unit).
I tested the water level switch with a meter, and got some readings. I really don't know how or what I was looking for, but on the 3 prongs, this is what I got:

OPEN:
1 & 2, no movement(on meter)
1 & 3, 3 Ohm
2 & 3, no movement

CLOSED:
1 & 2, no movement
1 & 3, no movement
2 & 3, 3 Ohm

I don't know if these readings are good, or if I'm even in the right area. I ran the unit with the panels off, and didn't see any leaks from the pump or anywhere else. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME????

here is the link to the article that explains the testing of the water level switch

http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/washer/check/waterlevel.php

However, that is only the problem if it is overfilling and flowing over the top. The best first step is to locate the source of the water. The is the single best clue to the problem.
