I went to do a load of laundry this evening and everything turned on fine. I walked by the washer a bit later and realized it was quiet. No water running, no usual hum of a working machine. I made sure it was on and it briefly ran again and i thought it was fine. I went back a few minutes later and no deal. I tested the outlet and current is fine. (I actually started the portable dishwasher on the same outlet since I can't do the laundry.) Our landlord has been notified, although my husband was a bit annoyed at being told there was nothing to do tonight. I told him not to go over till tomorrow, no landlord wants to hear this stuff at 9pm at night, lol. Anyway - back on topic. While we wait for repair will the water standing in the washer cause any damage? it's almost full for a full load.

No the water won't hurt anything if it's not leaking. Since it works for a little while at a time you may can put it on the spin cycle and get the water pumped out.

The water shouldn't be a problem overnight. If you are worried about your clothes, fish them out and run them through the dryer.

I tried the spin cycle - but it no longer turns on at all.

The clothes have been pulled out, thankfully it wasn't a full load even though i had the water set wrong.

thanks for the input :) i appreciate it.
