Maytag refrigerator

I have a Maytag MSD2957AEA side by side. It's about 8 yrs old and it's starting to heat up on the refridge side and the freezer side is making our ice cream bars hard as rocks.

it has a sliding dual control in the refridge side and i put it to 1 (low) on freezer and 9 (cold) on the fridge and it's below freezing on the freeze and 60 degrees on the fridge.

a friend suggested that i vacuum the coils, i did that and it didn't help :confused:

You have an auto. damper device between freezer and fridg, try to see if it is jamed with ice or fully closed. If jamed closed, jam open with something and replace with a new one.
If ok,set both controls to mid-range and feel if the airflow increases from freezer, if so you just have the conrols set wrong.
