Squeals like a pig.

I have a Sears refrigerator Model 106.8648681. A few years ago I had to replace the defrost timer. The refrigerator worked well for a couple years but now there is a high-pitched squeal that it makes at the end of the compressor run cycle when it is attempting to shut down. Is this problem with the defrost timer again or is there another item that is causing this problem. I am not sure what is producing the noise, which is produced as an series of squeals, at the end of each cooling cycle. Eventually the refrigheration unit does cycle completely to the off mode but it seems to struggle to do this. Can anyone help me on this problem?

Pull the fiber back off the refrigerator and listen when the compressor shuts off.
Either the noise is coming from the compressor or the condensing fan. If it is the condensing fan it probably has bad bearings and ready to fail.
If the compressor, it could be a tubing vibration,deteriorating compressor mounts or weak internal springs.
Remember to re-attach the back cover and post results.
