Hello,I have the above washing machine. On friday it washed as normal but would not proceed to the spin cycle.Tried it on a different programme and again washed but would not spin.It now will not do anything at all.The light is coming on and flashing as it should and it clicks as if it is about to start but then does nothing at all.I have had the back off and everything looks to be in it's place(as far as I could tell) but I did notice that there was a black sooty powder.I have had a little read on the site and some people have suggested that it could be the transmission or the clutch shoes.that means absolutely nothing to me at all.If it were to be one of these problems is it expensive to repair(I would need to get someone in).I'm wondering if it might be better to save the call out fee and get a new machine in the sale(£200).The machine is 4 1/2 years old.Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you  :)

Replacing the clutch requires a lot of disassembly and so the labor hours add up. Hiring someone would probably cost about $200 +

A new machine (basic) starts at around $325. If the problem is on an inexpensive machine, then, personally, I'd replace it rather repair it.
