water heater reset button

Almost every morning I have to push in the reset button to have hot water. Does anybody know why? It's an electric, about 5 yrs. old.

If your heating elements check out OK then, it's your Thermostat going bad.

You might have one or both elements shorted to ground; just check element terminals to ground with an ohmeter.
If ok adjust upper thermostat to a lower temperature;if that fixes it you have an upper thermostat going bad.
