French door, bottom freezer Maytag. Refrigerator compartment warm. Damper is open, but no air being forced from it. Freezer stays at 0. Control display shows top at 50+ and freezer to zero. These are correct for the actual temperatures.
I presume the control temperature inputs and the temp displays get their signals from the same thermister, so it doesn't seem it would be a bad thermister, since the displayed temps are correct. This happened before, last week. I took the cover off the damper and fiddled with it to make sure it was working. Didn't mess with anything else, and it spontaneously came on and cooled down and stayed down to 38 for days, until last night.
Intermittent evaporator fan? Does that happen? For my information, is there any common control connection between the damper and the evaporator fan? Of is the damper the only means of controlling the top compartment?
I guess it's time to take the back off and see if it's trying to power up the evaporator fan, unless someone knows something more likely about this model MFD2561HEB.
ADDITIONAL:
OKAY - I GOT TO THE EVAP FAN. IT WASN'T MOVING. i GAVE IT A NUDGE, AND IT BEGAN TO RUN, BUT WEAKLY. NEED A NEW FAN? LOW VOLTAGE SEEMS UNLIKELY.
