The DRAIN TUBE on my GE refrigerator (model TCD18, bottom freezer) freezes. This blocks other moisture, and that freezes, eventually stopping the evaporator fan which causes the refrig. to warm up. Why?? Also, which direction should the fan be turning, clockwise or counterclockwise, looking at it from the front??
thank you for any assistance

Maybe:
Drain tube stopped up at drain pan underneath causing water to drain too slow allowing water to freeze in top of tube.
Make sure the ice blocking the evaporator fan is not from buildup on evaporator coils in freezer. This would indicate auto defrost trouble.
The fan blows the cold air to the refrigerator section to cool it. It pulls the air across the coils and pushes it into the fridge. So that's the direction it should turn in.
