Our dishwasher stopped working because the dishwasher pipes froze. Finally it warmed up outside and now water pours into the dishwasher at a very high rate from a single inlet on one side of dishwasher (I've had to disconnect the water pipes into the dishwasher to stop it). I don't think there is anything still frozen, since the water pouring in is very hot.

Any thoughts on the problem?

My thoughts are first that damage was done when the dishwasher pipes were frozen and since the water keeps running I would guess the water inlet valve is damaged.

My second thought is that the pipes in the dishwasher didn't freeze but the supply pipes in the crawl space, basement or outside wall froze.

Did it start pouring when it thawed or when you ran the dishwasher.

The water inlet valve could be stuck open because of trash or sediment. WATER INLET VALVE (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/dishwasher/check/inletvalve.php)
