First of all I have 35+ years of appliance repair. I have a KitchenAid S/S ref with icemaker. I can not get icemaker to run. I have changed sender and receiver and they check ok. I am only getting 108 volts to the icemaker. You would think that it would still run. I have also changed the icemaker module. Still won't run.
Could it be the main refrigerator control ? :confused:

Got water- I always pour water into my icemaker when I've had it out to get it started back. Here's a list of things AcmeHowTo.com (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/icemaker/diagicemaker.php) says to check.
* Check the shutoff arm
* Check the supply valve
* Inspect the water supply line
* Test the shutoff switch
* Check the freezer temperature
* Inspect the ejector gear
* Test the ejector motor
* Test the ice mold heater
* Test the holding switch
* Test the water inlet switch
* Test the thermostat
* Test the water inlet valve

If you have a modular icemaker you can put a jumper from l-v This should activate the water valve. Monitor the voltage between l and n. If it goes to zero, you have a burnt/bad connection somewhere,probably at a connector.
If you retain 115 volts and get water you have a bad icemaker, no water, you have water valve problems or a frozen water line. You can check water valve by reversing the plugs between water and icemaker valves, then press the water dispenser leaver to see if you get water to the icemaker.
