Stove-top Ventilating Hood

Pulling down the old ventilating hood over the stove. I pulled the plug going to the fan, just want to double check with experts, I can't see where the light socket wires go, I assume they lead into the fan box also. JUST UNSCREW AND LET HER DROP,HUH? Thanks very much for needed advice.

Turn off power first at the circuit breaker.

Different units are wired different ways. In most cases, the fan and the lights are all going to be wired together. Some units will plug into an outlet while other are hard wired.

As long as you cut the power at the breaker, regardless of the wiring method, you should be able to work safely.
