Our Kenmore 70 Series washing machine recently started "hanging up" between certain cycles. At first it was just taking a VERY long time to complete the entire cycle - about 2 or more hours to do a load of wash.
Now, it will stop after the first "wash" cycle before it goes into the rinse/spin cylcle. It will do the same thing before going into the last spin cycle. You have to go in and manually advance the dial to make it resume. Is this somthing with the timer or something else and is it worth fixing? (we paid only $80 for the washer) Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

Sounds like the timer to me. The timer probably cost between $70 and $100 dollars. Fairly easy to install. If it sounds good and doesn't leak oil underneath it could be worth it to repair.
