Help. Water spilled on my Kenmore gas dryer while it was running. It suddenly shut off, and now wont start up. I have a GFI outlet, and when I plug the dryer in it trips the outlet. What is wrong, please help me.

Did the water to the GFI? If so try to plug the dryer to another outlet (you might need an extention cord).

I would have to think that perhaps water has pooled someplace inside the dryer and is causing a short. I would sugest opening the dryer up and looking for where there could be some standing water. Dry it up and perhaps use a hair dryer on the electronic parts to make sure they are dry and then try it again.
Make sure though that there is no gas smell before using the hair dryer. It is after all a heat producing item and could possibly start a fire or an explosion if you have a gas leak.
