The following is a reprint from our Ask the Expert feature on AcmeHowTo.com (http://www.AcmeHowTo.com)
Question: I have a hot tub outside that is ran through a GFI on the outside of the house. I have power all the way to the tub but when i press the test button on the GFI it does not cut the power.
It has only been in use about 8 months now and worked fine until now. Is it possible that actaul test/reset switch is bad or is there a part on the inside of the GFI that i need to check out.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thank You
Answer: There are no parts available for a GFCI outlet. Simply replace the outlet. We have more information on GFCI outlets here (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/homemaintenance/electrical/gfci.php).
