Question: I have a Hotpoint refrigerator, freezer on top. We lost power due to a hurricane for a fewe days. When power came back on the refrigerator runs. Compressor fan is running and motor running. But fridge and freezer is not getting cool at all. Any ideas?
Answer: It can take up to 72 hours to regain full cold temp. Also, an empty fridge doesn't get cold as easily as a partly filled fridge. Finally, if that isn't the problem then follow all the possibilities from our diagnostic page (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php) as the outage could have damaged an electrical part.
