Dishwasher leaks when draining

Hotpoint, basic model, 5-6 years old. The leak comes from the lever that drops to open the gate arm during drain. I've taken out the motor, and there's a metal washer that seems corroded. Is this the cause of the leak? Besides this leak, everything works fine.

It is hard to say for sure, but it sounds like a pretty good bet that it is the problem, or at least associated with it.
