I have a GE electric dryer model number DBSR453EB0WW. It runs, and heats, but the timer doesn't seem to advance. I have replaced the timer and it is still doing the same thing. I have tested all the thermostats with an ohm meter for continuity and can't find anything out of the ordinary. :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the timer moves in manual mode, then it's probably a burned out heater section. You can confirm inside the console, just refer to the schematic.

Rich, I'm a little confused. Is the heater section something that is inside the timer? The timer is brand new. I'm going to try and attach a copy of the schematic to this post.

The timer voltage in the auto mode comes from one of the heaters mounted on the back shroud. If heater breaks= no timer voltage. Pull apart dryer and check heaters.

I had checked the heater elements before putting it back together, but maybe I got a false reading, :o I'll go back in and check again. I'll let you know.

I went back in and checked the two heaters. Sure enough I got a good reading with the continuity test and yet one of them was broken. Upon a close examination I found the break. Restrung the heater with new elements and all is in order now. thanks Rich for a valuble lesson. :D
