my 3 year old whirlpool dishwasher has started filling with water when just sitting. any ideas. gordon

If it's fresh water the water inlet valve is probably leaking because of trash keeping if from sealing or it's worn out. Try cleaning it out to see if it will stop leaking. If it's drain water, check out the drain connections to your sink.

Also check the water pressure to the valve, that will cause this problem.
