dishwasher repair

The dishwasher goes through the Washing and Sensing Cycle, stops after about 90 minutes like it is going to the dry cycle but then returns to the Washing cycle to start over again. Ran for 2 1/2 hours the other day before we realized it. Tried the Quick Rinse Cycle to see if it was just the Normal Cycle, but it won't stop either. Please help!

Besides the SELECTER SWITCH (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/dishwasher/check/selector.php) it could be waiting for the water temp. reach the sanitizing level and if the heater isn't working it won't get hot. You may can turn the heater off on your control panel.
