hi,

I have a ge side by side. It first was not keeping things in my freezer frozen. I have had GE out 4 times now and they replaced the evaporator becuase it had a leak in it. My freezer now gets cold, but when the fridge is running i get this wierd like clicking noise. its hard to explain but its annoying, i can hear it when im watching tv. I dont think its a relay becuase the compressor doesnt seem to shut off and the pattern of the clicking is irregular. I cant really tell where its coming from but i think its from the back or possible behind the ice maker. It never made this noise before until after the ge repair man replaced the evaporator.

Is this normal or should i get on the horn and have GE come out yet again!?

Since it has been worked on, a loose or missing clamp on the evaporator coil could be letting it vibrate when running. You'll have to hold things and move things to see what will stop the noise. You have two fans which could be hitting the shroud they are mounted at. Vibration at the compressor is common at the compressor mounts. The drip pan can also vibrate. It would be easier to diagnose knowing the exact location.

I'll pull the fridge out and look around some more. I bet its something loose like you said, thats hitting cuase that is what it sounds like, i just can't quite tell where its coming from yet, but i bet thats what it is...
