Kenmore Timer

My Kenmore 80 series washer won't advance to the the next... anything. It washes clothes forever or spins forever... I am assuming based on what I've read that it is the timer. So, I went to take off the old one and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the old one off. HELP please

I could not get the Kenmore timer knob off so I dismantled it from the rear. Only the factory could put it back to gether. When I order a new timer I will see if the knob pushes on or if it is threaded.
