HI. Just wondering what makes ice form on the coils on the outside of my Kenmore refrigerator, and what I can do to make it go away...not so fond of the trail of water dripping cross the kitchen.
I have no idea how old the fridge is...It came with my apartment, and I've lived here 6 years...

Is it cooling ok. I know of nothing that would cause the coils on the outside (condenser coils) ice up. They should be warm when the compressor is running.

It's your compressor low side tubing that is frosting over.
A few things to check; See if it has been re-filled with freon, check for a new filler valve on the compressor tubing, it may have been overfilled.
A partially frozen evaporator will cause this, measure freezer temperature and post.
