I have a question about my Directv receiver. I would like to hide the box. It has an RF antenna so I can use the remote from anywhere. Can I put the receiver in my crawl space. I want to put the receiver under the house and run my HDMI cable up the wall to the tv. Can this be done?

The box should be kept in a "conditioned space". This includes a finished, heated, basement but not a typical crawlspace. The problem is that the dampness, condensation, excessive heat, rodents, insects will all have a negative impact on the DIRECTV Receiver.
You can definitely hide the receiver, but you shouldn't put it outside the envelope of your home. Put it in a closet, with adequate ventilation, or in any out of the way space.
Good Luck
