Kenmore Washer does not spin fast

Works fine however it will not advance to fast spin cycle ???

Test lid switch. It prevents spinning with lid open. LID SWITCH (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/washer/check/lidswitch.php)

Thanks Woodchuck Checked the lid switch it seems to be functioning fine what else could it possibly be ???

Does the motor run in spin? If not, you have a bad timer, pull apart and check for bad contacts.
