What's possible problem ???

Assuming you have a mechanical timer, your little timer motor is blown out, or the gear train is stripped. I keep a supply of used motors to repair this as they do not sell the motors seperately. If your dryer is GE, forget this comment, you will need a new timer.

A little more info on the dryer would help, like maybe the model number and brand. It might be a partially broken heater element. If you run it in automatic cycle it will never shut off and if you run it in timed cycle it will.
