My GE Icemaker will not dispense cubes; I find the cubes frozen in the tray and although the arm rotates and tries to dispense, they are frozen solid in the trays and will not come out. Sounds like a heater problem of some sort- can you help? Thank you Jim Cvik

Look at the ice mold. Is the ice over the top of the individual cube dividers? If so, the tray is being overfilled and the mechanism has no chance of pushing out the cubes. Over filling can result fom a leaking water inlet valve or from a too long water-filling cycle. The former will likely require a new inlet valve (easy) the latter requires an adjustment of the fill cycle which may be done through a control on the ice-maker (if it exists) or by turning down the water pressure at the valve where it taps into the homes water supply.

If the tray isn't being overfilled, then a failure of the mold heater or the control mechanism may be at fault. You can read more about this and the way to fix it on our website acmehowto.com
