We have a side by side Hotpoint HSS25GFPE WW that is 4 years old. It started acting up about a month ago. Sometimes when we used the water and pulled the glass away the water would keep going for a second. It got worse to where the water just kept coming out so I turned the water off. My husband thought the switch was bad so we ordered a new one and replaced it. However, when we turned the water back on and press the lever nothing happens at all (and no sounds of anything working with the exception of the switch clicking) and now our ice maker isn't making ice either. It seems that no water is getting to the fridge at all. We checked to make sure the water was in fact on and that the ice maker is on and we have the filter bypass piece in so the filter isn't the problem either. My husband thinks it is the control panel thing (where you select water, cube ice or crushed ice). Since that part is expensive I don't want to replace it and find out that is not the issue either. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

Did you check your water inlet valve. It controls the water to dispenser and ice maker. CHECK WATER INLET VALVE (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/inletvalve.php)

Thanks so much for the link. I will have my husband check it.
