I Have a kenmore refreigerator with a ice maker. I recently bought a water control valve for the ice maker. I checked the voltage for the valve which is 3.3 volts. I disconnected the inlet valve to the ice maker from the valve to see if water was being dispense and there was no water coming out. What can the problem be?

The ice maker only gets water during the cycle after the ice has dumped. That is the only time the water would come out of the inlet valve. If you have a water dispenser, you can check the valve by swapping the wires and turning on the water dispenser. You can also check it by the instructions here (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/inletvalve.php)

The refrigerator does not have a water dispenser. I have checked to see if there were any ice cubes this morning and there is none. When is it that the valve sends water to the ice maker? I am going to test the valve just as you said and hope this will work. Thank you.

After the ice is dumped and the ice paddles return to the normal position you should be able to hear a click on and about 5 seconds later click off. That's when you would see the water come in the ice maker.
It may help to get the cycle started by pouring a little water in the ice maker and let it freeze and dump.
