I have a question about my set up. I have a phillips HTS3410D home theater in a box and a Pansonic TV,admittedly the tv is about six years old. I understand the Phillips HTS3410D can play multi region dvd's by selecting the 'auto' selection in the set up menu. I have done this and when I put in a region 1 dvd, the sound is fine but the picture rolls. Is this a TV problem or a HTINB problem?

thanks

In this arrangement, I believe your TV is essentially playing the role of a monitor. It is not doing anything other than playing the signal it is given. If it is a made for U.S. television and a U.S. home theater, then it should be utilizing a usable signal. However, if it is outputing a PAL signal to a NTSC television, or vice versa, you will see a severe jittery effect.

Check to make sure that your HTINB is outputing the correct signal (if the equipment was purchased in the U.S., the signal should be NTSC). If it is set to match your TV, then next try playing a Region 0 (all regions) or region 1 (U.S. + others) set to region 0 or 1 respectively. If that plays correctly, then the problem is in the HTINB and not the TV, most likely something to do with parameters selected during set up...IMO.

Good Luck
