Freezer problem

I have a rather unusual problem (I think). My freezer is not staying cold enough, at least what is frozen stays frozen, but what is not does not freeze. It has coils under each shelf and three of the four shelves are cold (and have some frost on the coils), but the fourth shelf does not. Anyone have an idea what could be going on here?

The uneven frost and cooling are symptoms of low freon. A leak somewhere which requires a trained tech to detect and refill.

You could also have a compressor going sour. A lot of leaks happen in the evaporator, or internal in the compressor. Probably new freezer time as the new ones are not that expensive.
