I have an outdoor outlet that has a gfci breaker. I have been using it for my above ground pool filter for about a year or so. While re-siding my house I disconnected it to wrap the sheathing. When I put it back I plugged in the filter without the breaker on then went in and turned the breaker on. It buzzed and tripped. I went outside and unplugged the filter and reset the breaker but it tripped again with nothing on. Any ideas what is going on?

You don't say how many wires are in the GFCI box. If it is just the two plus ground, then I'd be suspicious of the outlet grounding out against the box or the wires may have been damaged where they enter the box and are thus shorting at the box.

If there are more wires, then I'd also investigate the possibility of some crossed wires.
