Infrared Wired vs. Wireless

I recently moved all components to a closet. I'm trying to determine if I should use wired infrared repeater system or wireless.

The walls will reduce or block the signals from reaching the equipment inside the closet. Wireless will not be as effective or completely ineffective depending upon the type of equipment, thickness of walls etc.

The repeater will ensure that the signal gets from the remote(s) to the equipment. However, it adds another layer to complicate things or for things to go wrong. Also, some repeaters don't always interface as well as one would hope. Mostly they work fine, but I like to keep things as simple as possible.

I would always use a wireless remote system, if I knew it would work. However, in situations like yours a repeater should ensure that it will work.
