Question: I have a Gibson Comercial freezer. Is it okay to have the freezer leaning back so that the door closes by itself or should it be perfectly level?
Answer: I don't believe having it a little off level should be a problem. However, it was designed to run while level, so every effort should be made to make it level. Often when a door won't close, it is because it is a little out of alignment or a small plastic disc in the bottom hinge is damaged or missing. The door can be realigned by loosening the hinges and adjusting them. The plastic disc can be slipped in place by lifting the door off the hinge and slipping the part on.
