Welcome to Appliance Repair.com

Assuming your dishwasher is on it's own circuit the way it should be, you should fire it up and amp probe the circuit inside the breaker box, as it runs. This will tell you if the dishwasher is bad or your circuit breaker is going bad. Most likely the dishwasher motor is on it's way out.

Does the motor ever run and spray water??

A Make and Model Number would help

Also check the internet to see if this unit is part of a recall
There have been several over the last couple years

Thanks for the help
The make and model are an Indesit / D63
The mains supply works fine until dishwasher is turned on it runs through first couple of cycles and even starts filling on each programe setting then just trips fuse, this problem as only started the last couple of weeks until that point everything was fine
Once again many thanks for help

it could be the motor going bad.. (blows fuse after running a certain amount of time)

it could be the heater element shorted to case.. (blows fuse when calling for heating water)

it could be a bad main circuit breaker ... (try swapping breakers or plug unit in another outlet)

Many thanks looks like it might be one of the first two as just tried circuit breaker and re-plug and still same problem.
