Kenmore refrig. compressor chirps

As the motor shuts off, it chips only once but on every cycle end.

What to do?

More than likely it's a motor mound come loose inside the compressor and when it turns off it squeaks when the motor shakes. . It may get louder over time but it should work ok. The only thing you could do would be to replace it.

Remove back panel and compressor mounting clips and tilt the compressor the way that reduces the shutdown noise. You will be tilting the compressor away from the bad internal mounting spring.
