View Full Version : Whirlpool direct drive washer no agitate/spin/drain

Model number LA6090XTN0. Fills with water, sits and hums as it goes through the cycles. It doesn't agitate, spin, drain. Replaced pump about 2 months ago and was going to replace the coupling, but it looked fine when I took it out (teeth were in tact and bushing good). Any ideas? If it's the tranny, should I just get a new washer, or is it economically fixable? Thanks.

there is a start switch on the motor, try giving that a tap with a broom handle.

I took the motor off and the shaft does not spin freely. It took a pair of channel locks to move it at all and even then it is very tough to turn.

might as well replace the motor/trans coupling with the stronger ones:
