I have a Kenmore dryer model# 110.96429100 that will not start. I replaced the motor about a month ago and also replaced the thermal fuse about two weeks ago. This morning I took the push button switch to the appliance store to have it checked and it was good so they said it was probably the door switch. I bought a new door switch but the dryer still doesn't come on. I can hear the timer running when I turn it on. I also had the thermal fuse checked and it was okay. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

you checked this thermal fuse ?

otherwise you'll have to check some voltage measurements at the motor while the start switch is held in.

Check your fuse with the wires disconnected.

I rechecked the fuse and it turns out it was blown. I replaced it two days ago and now it has blown again. Any ideas as to what may be the cause? Your help is greatly appreciated.

the dryer must be over-heating for a reason.
check the vent air-flow on the outside of the house.
disconnect the vent on the back of the dryer to see if you have good air-flow there.
how long is the vent ? check / clean
check the blower wheel #37

Okay, I have checked the vent and blower wheel and they are fine. I replaced the thermal fuse, the cutoff thermostat #1 and the 250 degree thermostat #34. After 4 loads the thermo fuse blew again. The only thing I haven't changed is the 150 degree thermostat #41. I pulled it off and when I shake it I hear a rattling sound inside. Is this normal? Maybe this thermostat is the problem? Thanks again for all your help.

with it disconnected, you should be able to measure continuity across it
0 ohms

I checked it and it does measure 0 ohms. Is this good?
