electric hot water heater

My water heayer stopped making hot water. It is only 4 months old. There was a thunder storm could that have caused a problem? Only luke warm water comes out. Help!

You'll have to take the heating element covers off but, I think there might be a hi-temp reset button on each thermostat. Check those and check for continuity on both heating elements.
