starting problem

When i try to start my pc i get 4 beeps and the screen doent turn on i dont know what to do plz reply.thank you for your time.(i should add the caps lock and num lock lights open but the screen continues to be in sleep mode))

The beeps signify a problem and what they mean differs by BIOS installed on a PC.

I would bet this is a video problem. Make sure the cable is securely connected to the video connection on both the PC and the monitor.

Your monitor should have a power light to indicate it is on.

If that doesn't fix it, then the next thing is the video card. If it isn't built-into the motherboard, then make sure it is snuggly in place in its slot. (discharge static in your body by touching the metal frame of the PC before touching any components.

If your motherboard has built-in video, then the video may have failed and may require you to install a new card into an available slot.
